About Me
Hello! I'm Stacey Funt - physician, coach, global traveler, wife, and mother. My passion lies in Lifestyle Medicine, how our daily choices profoundly impact our overall well-being. This intersection of interests gave birth to Lifestyle Health Adventures, the heart of LH Adventure Travel.
My philosophy on women's travel goes beyond visiting exciting new places. It's about personal growth, connection, and embracing life fully. My mission? To offer awe-inspiring, unforgettable adventures for women that immerse us in nature, promote well-being, and foster meaningful connections. I'm also committed to our planet's health, which you can read about in our sustainability practices.
Every itinerary I craft is thoughtfully designed to include key elements of wellness including moderate movement - usually hiking, with some trips featuring biking or kayaking - a spa experiences, healthy, locally-inspired cuisine, and sisterhood as we explore incredibly beautiful natural settings and diverse cultures together. It's a shared experience that goes beyond typical tourism, creating bonds and memories that last long after we return home.
Personally, I love adventure, new experiences, and the serenity of hiking in nature. Travel has been my biggest passion for over 37 years. From sleeping on wooden floors in Northern Thailand's hill tribe huts to having my sandwich snatched by a vulture in Tanzania, to experiencing soul-stirring moments beneath the Amazon's starry sky - these are the memories that fuel my passion.
Travel has enriched my life in countless ways. A pivotal moment was visiting the Galapagos Islands with my husband shortly after our marriage. Witnessing "mother/baby" interactions everywhere inspired us to start a family - leading to my pregnancy with twins just a month later! To share my love of travel and create meaningful one-on-one time, I began "mom and me" trips with my children at age eight, a tradition that continues today.
My educational journey includes psychology at Emory University, medical school at NYU, and a residency in diagnostic radiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center. I've further honed my skills through health and wellness coaching training with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, certification by the National Board of Health and Wellness Coaches, and life coach training through the Coach Training Institute.
For the past decade, I've coached, conducted workshops, and lectured on wellness and self-care for both physicians and the general public. The idea of combining all my passions into travel experiences was a long-held dream. When my children left for college, I knew it was time to bring this vision to life.
Now, I'm beyond thrilled to craft Lifestyle Health Adventures. I invite you to join me on an upcoming adventure or reach out to design your own unique journey as we explore the world together.
