The Walk
Walk a beautiful and varied stretch of the Camino Francés, beginning just outside Pamplona and ending in Logroño — one of the most iconic pilgrimage routes in the world.
For centuries, pilgrims from across the globe have walked this path to challenge themselves physically, reflect spiritually, and connect to something larger than daily life. Over four days, we’ll follow in those footsteps, moving through rolling hills, vineyards, olive groves, and medieval villages, settling into a steady rhythm that naturally invites both reflection and connection.
Our September 2027 departure takes place during a Holy Year, also known as a Jubilee Year, a rare event that occurs only when the Feast of St. James falls on a Sunday. During these special years, pilgrims from around the world journey to Santiago, continuing a tradition that has endured for more than a thousand years. Whether people walk for faith, adventure, reflection, challenge, or simply the joy of the journey, experiencing the Camino during a Holy Year adds another layer of history and significance to an already remarkable experience.
The Camino Francés is a well-marked and well-traveled trail, with clear signage and yellow arrows guiding the way. You’ll be given route information for each day, and it’s common to see other pilgrims walking throughout the journey. Some moments you may enjoy walking quietly on your own, while at other times you’ll naturally fall into step with others — sharing conversation, encouragement, and the simple joy of the walk. The trail offers a steady flow of pilgrims without feeling crowded, creating both a sense of community and plenty of open, peaceful walking.
Highlights along the way include:
-
Climbing to the Alto del Perdón, with sweeping views across the Navarra countryside
-
Crossing the historic Puente la Reina, a gathering point for pilgrims for centuries
-
Walking through wine country and small farming villages
-
Arriving in Logroño, known for its warmth, lively energy, and exceptional food scene
-
Meeting pilgrims from around the world, and enjoying tapas on the famous Calle Laurel
-
Visiting Santiago de Compostela with an optional mass in the evening for pilgrims
The walking is non-technical, on a mix of dirt paths, gravel, and quiet roads. You’ll walk at your own pace, with time to pause for coffee, lunch, photos, or simply to take in the landscape.
Daily distances range from approximately 10 to 15 miles, with the longest day reaching 17 miles. On that final walking day, guests have the option of taking a short taxi transfer from Viana to Logroño, reducing the distance by approximately 7 miles. For a detailed breakdown of daily distances and elevation gain, please see "What is the activity level?" in the FAQs below.
To make the experience as easeful as possible, luggage is transferred for you each day, so you walk only with a light daypack. You'll also have 24/7 emergency support and an experienced local female Camino host walking with the group, sharing the history, culture, and traditions of the Camino along the way.
Evenings are an important part of the experience. After each day’s walk, we gather in handpicked inns to share dinner and conversation—a time to connect, reflect, and enjoy the culture of the places we’re walking through. These shared moments, paired with the steady rhythm of the trail, are often what people remember most.
This is a walk that offers challenge without urgency, structure without pressure, and space for both solitude and shared experience—an experience that stays with people long after the last step. Our approach preserves the spirit and rhythm of the Camino while thoughtfully adding comfort, cultural depth, and ease at the beginning and end of the journey.

Who is this trip for?
We are women, mostly in our 40s to 60s, who seek more than sightseeing — we’re drawn to experiences that challenge, inspire, and connect us more deeply to ourselves and the world.
This Camino journey is for women who appreciate both independence and connection. Each day offers the freedom to walk at your own pace — sometimes alongside others, sometimes in quiet solitude — covering an average of 14-15 miles a day for four days through Spain’s stunning countryside. Luggage transfers and on-call support make the journey smooth, while each evening brings us back together for comfort, camaraderie, and shared reflection.
We are resilient, curious, and grounded — women who embrace both the ease and effort of the path, trusting that the walk itself becomes part of our growth and joy.
Your Camino Host
When I walked the Camino to design this journey, I came away with one important realization.
The walking itself is beautifully simple. The trail is well marked, luggage is transferred each day, and each pilgrim naturally settles into their own rhythm.
What makes the experience truly richer is understanding the places you're walking through. The history behind a centuries-old bridge, the traditions of a village, the significance of the Camino's symbols, and the stories that have shaped this pilgrimage for generations all add another layer to the journey.
That's why I've chosen to partner with an experienced local female host. I believe having someone who knows the Camino intimately will make this an even richer experience, bringing the history, culture, and traditions of the trail to life while creating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for our group.
I will personally work with our host before the trip so that the experience reflects the thoughtful pace, meaningful conversations, and sense of connection that are at the heart of every LH Adventure Travel journey.
I believe this partnership creates a more meaningful Camino experience, combining an itinerary I carefully designed after walking the Camino myself with the perspective of someone who knows it as home.
